East Hartford, Ct 2nd alarm

East Hartford, Ct. members responded to 231 Ellington Rd on 10/9/09 at 2024 hours for a report of a basement fire. On arrival with smoke showing from a 3 story apartment building and people in the windows awaiting rescue a second alarm was transmitted. Four residents were removed via ground ladder by Engine 2. Fire was in the basement stairwell.
