Manchester, Ct 2nd alarm plus
Manchester, Ct Fire Rescue EMS Dept. responded to this 2nd alarm at 140 Butternut Rd @ 2144 hrs on 7/16/09. When this was toned out only 1 engine and a paramedic unit were assigned due to the high call volume from a severe thunder and lightning storm in the area. Firefighters removed one male occupant and his dog on arrival. There was an active propane leak / fire in the rear of the house. According to the news lightning hit the propane tank and started the fire. Mutual aid from the 8th District FD and East Hartford FD operated on scene and covered stations also.
