Manchester, Ct 2nd alarm

At 0419 hours on 10/1/09 Manchester, CT Fire Rescue EMS dept. members were dispatched to a fire alarm at 209 Hale Rd. TGI Fridays Rest. After they were dispatched a 911 call was received from the cleaning crew reporting a fire in the building. On Engine 5's arrival they reported smoke inside and were investigating. Fire was found in the ceiling/roof area to the rear of the rest. After attempting to extinguish the fire members were removed from the building and the roof as the roof was starting to sag. Two ladder pipes were then put to work to flood the roof area on fire which finally extinguished the fire. The 8th District FD with Vernon FD's cascade unit responded to the scene.
