Hartford, Ct 2nd alarm

With single digit temperatures the Hartford, Ct. FD had their second 2nd alarm fire ordered by Ladder 5 in 24 hours at 58 Chadwick Ave. on 2/11/11 at 0050 hours. Members had heavy fire showing from a 3 story wood frame. First due companies made it into the first floor but had to be withdrawn as the fire was in the walls and they had numerous holes in the floors. The street is very narrow with no snow but with all the snow on the ground it made getting ladder companies into the block very difficult.
